There are three different types of Native Shopping Ads to place on your site.
  •  Recommendation Ads
  • Search ads
  • Custom ads

Recommendation Ads:

Recommendation ad unit shows products that are based on your content and your reader’s shopping habits. You also have option of selection certain categories you’d like items to be shown from.
For example the beauty of recommendation ads is that they’ll work for several posts on a niche site. They don’t need to be tailored to an individual post. Your readers get value as well because they have options to choose from based on your content.

you wrote a post about skin moisturizers and a reader was recently browsing for moisturizers, they might see an ad unit full of moisturizers.

Search Ads:

In a search ad, you’ll set a default search term and related products will show up in the ad unit. Readers can, however, change the search term to anything they’d like to search for on Amazon.

This option gives you a little control over the ad but also leaves it open for readers. If you are writing a review about a product, for example, search ads allow readers to see more options if they aren’t interested in the exact product your post is about.

Custom Ads:

When you create a custom ad, you select each item and create this ad. You can create an ad for 20 different products through this.

If you talk about multiple products in your content, a custom ad at the end of the post is a great way to round up every item mentioned in one neat place for your readers.

If your page is about Fitness machines you should choose Fitness machines as your default category, because Related ads will most likely show Fitness machines but it will probably show some Fitness books or DVD-s too, and they cost only 1-10$.

Note: If you are going to place Amazon display ads on the different website of yours, I suggest create tracking ID for all your blogs. This is going to be pretty useful to measure the performance of every blog.
